Understanding the Editor
Once you have selected which page you would like to edit from the opening screen - you will see the Website Tonight Page Editor. This is a WYSWYG (What You See is What You Get) style of editor which means you will not be required to edit, create or directly change html code to make changes to your site. However, these functions are available to you if you need to copy or insert html into your site
.

1. Your Site Appearance: You will notice that your site may look different in the editor than it does when you look at it on the internet. This is normal. You will see thin blue lines that outline the layout of the page. When you hover your cursor over elements in the page, you'll see 'Move' and yellow dashed lines as well. When you edit your page you will edit portions at a time. We'll discuss this further in the specific editing tutorials but suffice it to say - your site will look slightly different in the editor.

2.
Selecting the Page You Want to Edit: Use the dropdown area on the box on the right hand side of the screen to select which page you would like to work on.

3.
Manage Page Properties: There are four tabs in the middle of the screen that assist you in making changes to your website. The 'Page' tab allows you several options:
        • Add Pages - add new pages to your site or copy a current page.
        • Delete Page - delete the page you are on
        • Layout - change the layout of the current page
        • Navigation - modify the navigation on one page or the entire site.
        • Background Image - Change the image in the background of your site
        • Template Images - Modify the standard template Images in the site on one or all pages
        • Properties - Change the Page title, url name, Meta data, java script etc.

4. Insert Elements, Widgets, Images & More:
The next tab allows you to insert various items into the body of your page:
        • Block - Everything in the editor must fit inside a block. Blocks can contain images, tables, text, anchors and widgets. In some cases a block may hold a single item or multiple items.
        • Images - you can insert a single image or an image collection. You will be asked to browse the image gallery, select from you current images or upload and image.
        • Media - You can insert video, flash or music here. In some cases you will need to upload a file first to your library before you can insert it.
        • Social - Insert Flickr, Twitter, RSS Feeds and share links.
        • There are numerous Widgets available depending on the level of your account (ie: 5, 10 or 999 pages). Some widgets may not be available. Others like a hit counter, date stamp & scrolling marquees are usable for everyone.
        • Calendar - Some website plans allow for you to insert a dynamic calendar.
        • Tables - enter tables, coupons, event schedules and announcements that are already built or can be customized. To learn more about tables, click here.
        • Forms - Insert pre-built forms or customize a form.
        • Script - Insert Javascript.
        • Insert site elements used often like company name, email & page title.

Specific Options Tab:
In order to see the options available - first click on an item. For example if I click on a block - the options specific to editing a block appear and have the word 'Block' beneathe them. If I were to then click on an image in the block the options for the image and the block become visible. (See below)

If you were to click on a table - you would see the table options.

Text Editor & Link Manager:
When you are in a block you will see the Text editor and link manager appear on the left hand side of the tool bar. From the editor you can:
        • Select and change font
        • Change Font size
        • Utilize preset heading styles
        • Add numbered or bulleted formatting
        • Spell check the page
        • Decrease or Increase indents
        • Change the color of text
        • Highlight text in various colors
        • Bold, Italicize and Underline text
        • Left, Center, Right & Full justify paragraphs
        • Link text or images to email, URL, pages within your site, uploaded documents, anchors with the option to allow search engines to follow the links and open in a new window.

        • Cut, copy and paste
